I’m often asked why someone should work with me, over another mortgage professional. Perhaps a mortgage lender offering a significantly lower rate, or lower cost, and my response to them is to google that person to see what other people are saying about them and their services. Often times if a deal is too good to be true, then it is.
Although a 30 year mortgage at a higher interest rate can be significant over time, the cost of doing business with someone who cannot perform, can be devastating. So I always tell my clients, when you’re shopping around, shop the names of your prospective lenders as well. See what other people are saying about them online. If they have raving reviews, then perhaps what they are saying is fact. If they have complaints or, no reviews, then that to me, as a consumer, would be a red flag.
Do your homework, we’re all consumers out there in one way or another, so be sure that the lender you choose can stand up to the test of a testimonial! Happy Shopping!
