The Barona Center is not a museum and does not charge admission. They offer free, open-to-the-public events and art exhibitions for the community. There are approximately 18,000 pieces of Native American art in the collections and the center has a display of more than 10,000 pieces. The center also features a museum with an extensive collection of Native American artifacts. The center also has a ceremonial sweat lodge and a museum dedicated to the Ohlone people.

What to expect at the Barona Cultural Center and Museum?


The Barona Cultural Center and Museum offers a variety of programs, events, and exhibitions throughout the year including a variety of cultural art exhibitions, a professional Native American Choir and Orchestra, and workshops on a variety of topics. The cultural exhibition spaces include three gallery spaces that can accommodate large-scale exhibits. There are also two exhibition spaces that are dedicated to Indigenous art and the Ohlone people. The Ohlone people are the original people of the area and their art is on display. The third exhibition space is a state-of-the-art multimedia art gallery that can be used for audio-visual presentations and various types of performances. The Barona Center has audiovisual equipment that allows them to play video from their collection of more than 10,000 pieces. The center also has a museum that showcases more than 600 authentic artifacts from different parts of the world including from the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world. The museum also features interactive exhibits that allow the museum to tell the story of the Ohlone people. The museum also allows the center to tell the story of the world through history and geography. The museum is also home to the Barona Cultural Center’s library.

Hidden costs at the Barona Cultural Center and Museum

Visiting the Barona Cultural Center and Museum is free. But there are hidden costs that you may not be aware of if you choose to visit this cultural attraction. The Barona Cultural Center and Museum has a dress code. You cannot wear athletic clothes such as shorts or t-shirts while visiting the center. You also cannot wear athletic shoes or sandals. The Barona Cultural Center and Museum is also a public building and it is open to the public 24 hours a day.
